The Lean Process Engineer/Quality Manager will determine the organization’s quality assurance standards and ensure staff are technically trained according to company and regulatory requirements. Out of the Mississauga, ON branch, they will oversee the progress of the organization against these standards, the branch(s) quality system, the Safety Management System (SMS).

YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

  • Support lean six sigma methodology and DNA throughout projects and training initiatives nationally
  • Manage sub-level projects to drive and deliver process efficiency, productivity, Service Excellence, employee satisfaction and financial improvements.
  • Understanding customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes
  • Documenting and reviewing work instructions and SOP’s for technicians & shop maintenance
  • Setting process for auditing and monitoring to ensure compliance with standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support our training and explore new technology to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of maintenance shops and staff
  • Be on the lookout for opportunities for improvement and develop new efficient procedures
  • Work with our sales, operations, and safety teams to ensure we are aligned to meet our customers and employee needs.
  • Observe managers, supervisors, technicians, and other staff and provide guidance and feedback
  • Establish clear communication lines between all involved parties
  • Oversee all policy & procedures to identify deviations from quality standards
  • Ensure we keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis
  • Ensure compliance with TIP Fleet Services Canada Ltd. Health and Safety program

YOU NEED TO HAVE:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience (ideally a minimum of 2 years in a six-sigma role. BB or MBB qualified or willing to qualify).
  • Demonstrated external focused project work.
  • Ability to assess tasks, prioritise critical actions and drive growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams to deliver quantifiable results.
  • Sound communication skills, ability to influence, motivate and create an environment for change at all levels of an organization. Ability to operate independently, take initiative and be resourceful. 
  • Proven business impact based on projects completed.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, facilitation and sound presentation skills.
  • Good computer skills that include Microsoft Office package (Excel, Power Point, Word)
  • Ability to travel
